Cleveland has long been ranked among the least connected cities in America, leaving many families cut off from opportunities that depend on reliable internet. DigitalC, a nonprofit founded to change that reality, has been steadily building solutions where traditional providers left gaps. By partnering with Siklu and its cutting-edge millimeter-wave (mmWave) technology, DigitalC has been able to deliver gigabit-speed, fiber-like connections to neighborhoods that had been ignored for decades.
Projects like Phoenix Village—a community overseen by the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority—show just how transformative this work can be. Using Siklu’s MultiHaul Terragraph-certified solutions, DigitalC connected hundreds of households at lightning-fast speeds and low latency, without the cost and disruption of laying fiber. For residents, the difference is life-changing: from applying for jobs and housing online to staying connected with loved ones, to children being able to learn without buffering or drop-offs. As DigitalC’s COO put it, the mission is to connect families “from all walks of life, some who have never had connectivity, others who are looking for more reliable and affordable service.” Together, Siklu and DigitalC are proving that closing the digital divide is possible—and that Cleveland can lead the way in digital inclusion.
