DigitalC Announces Key New Hires
Cleveland, Ohio, June 28, 2023 - DigitalC, a leading nonprofit technology social enterprise bridging the digital divide in Northeast Ohio, today announced that it has expanded its leadership team, adding positions in finance, marketing and communications, and human resources.

Marlene Piatak joined DigitalC as chief financial officer. Piatek has over 25 years of experience working in public accounting for a large regional firm and in the nonprofit technology space. She is accredited by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. In this role, Piatek ensures that DigitalC’s financial practices adhere to the highest standards of excellence.
Valerie Jerome joined DigitalC as chief marketing and communications officer. Jerome has more than 15 years of experience planning strategic communications, marketing, branding, and outreach campaigns to advance mission-driven efforts in the nonprofit, public, and private sectors. Previous positions include roles at The Millennia Companies® and Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority. Jerome is a graduate of Cleveland Bridge Builders and the Neighborhood Leadership Development Program. She also served as a United States Peace Corps volunteer. Jerome earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Ohio University.
Jaelen Hollinger joined DigitalC as director of people, culture, and success. Hollinger is both a leader in the human resources industry and the Northeast Ohio community. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources Management and a Minor in Entrepreneurship from Baldwin Wallace University, he spent six years at the Cleveland Foundation, where he most recently served as a senior human resources generalist. Jaelen’s passion for community and leadership development has led him to join numerous committees and programs. He currently serves on the associate board for the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission. He previously served as the selection committee chair and executive producer for the Annual Black Heritage Celebration’s I Am Dr. King’s Dream Project with Fox 8 News recognizing Northeast Ohio’s future leaders from kindergarten through college. Hollinger earned his Master of Business Administration from Baldwin Wallace University.
On Thursday, July 29, DigitalC is hosting a meeting from 3 to 6 p.m. at the MidTown Tech Hive to inform the public about its plan to provide citywide low-cost, high-speed internet service and technology skills training to bridge the digital divide in Cleveland.
